Demi Davis: A Journey of Resilience, Healing, and Purpose

Demi Davis is a hairstylist with 34 years of experience, a salon owner for 15 years, and now, as she enters her second season of life, she’s navigating the changes that come with aging and embracing a new path toward retirement.

Demi is the self-published author of her biography and life memoir, After the Rain, the Sun Must Shine (2019), co-authored with her ex-husband during his incarceration. Their story shares the healing journey that led them through immense challenges, including the murder of her brother, the death of her best friend to cancer, and her mother’s brain injury, which ultimately left her bedridden. Their shared story of survival and healing eventually led to remarrying on a reality TV show hosted by Judge Lynn Toler, where they also received counseling.

Inspired by her experiences, Demi founded a non-profit organization, BLLLISSS, which stands for Believing Living Loving Life Is Something Super Special. The non-profit’s mission is to support youth and aging adults dealing with trauma, offering healing and intentional coping strategies.

Demi’s upcoming self-help book will offer practical coping mechanisms and life lessons from her journey, aiming to help others Put The Stress Down and live life on purpose.

Currently, Demi is pursuing a Master’s in Social Work at Georgia State University. She hopes to use her degree to create a government-assisted program to help families affected by grief, loss, and incarceration.
